RULES
The rules for the Treasure Hunt Contest are designed to make it a fair and fun experience for everyone. Teams are out in a public setting and must police themselves to ensure that everyone complies with the rules.
By registering for and/or participating in the Treasure Hunt, you and your teammate(s), friends, those you’re participating and/or traveling with, etc. (hereafter ‘teammate(s)’) hold harmless Escape It LLC and its employees, partners, sponsors, etc. Meaning, you agree to not sue or make any legal claims against Escape It LLC, its employees, partners or sponsors for any expenses, damages, injuries, or losses from participating in the Treasure Hunt. You also acknowledge and agree to follow all of the Treasure Hunt Rules listed hereafter.
Everyone playing must sign the Accident/Release of Liability Waiver and Media Release Authorization form before the scavenger hunt date.
This is a Summary of the actual Official Rules and Waiver.
Valid participants must be 18 or older with valid ID to claim the prize.
Safety and Well-Being
- Your health and safety come first.
- Please keep an eye on members of your team showing signs of Heat Exhaustion and take breaks as necessary
- If you encounter a medical emergency, seek professional assistance and notify the race directors as soon as possible.
- In hazardous or extreme conditions, use common sense and prioritize safety over completing tasks.
Property
- Participants shall not trespass, or in any manner attempt to gain access to any property or location where they do not have a right or permission to be.
- Clues will NEVER be on private property; you will be able to find the clue right outside of the property or on the line/slightly inside.
- Be respectful of the property where you are searching for the clues. Clues will be left in discrete, but visible hiding places. You will never need a tool or shovel to retrieve a clue. You may need to move some loose brush or dirt though.

- Do not harm plant or animal life when searching.
- Digging, climbing, or traveling in an unsafe area is not encouraged or required for the Treasure Hunt.
- Metal detectors are not needed
Obey Local Laws
- Comply with all local laws and land management policies.
- Ignorance is no excuse.
- While participating in an event, you are solely responsible for your behavior. If you get in trouble, you are responsible for resolving it.
- Each team must have a licensed driver with a valid drivers license
- “Obey all local laws” includes traffic laws. We take your safety and the safety of those around you seriously. Any team found to have received a traffic or even parking violation will be disqualified.
- Do NOT access the Treasure Hunt Contest site while driving! You have teammates for a reason 🙂 If you’re driving, focus on the road and obey the law while one of your teammates helps navigate you safely to each location using the site and your notes.
