RULES
Escape It, LLC (hereafter “Sponsor”) is providing these Official Rules to the Customer of Potential Customer (hereafter “Participant”) to make it a fair and fun experience for everyone. Participant(s) are out in a public setting and must police themselves to ensure that everyone complies with the rules.
By registering for and/or participating in the Treasure Hunt, you and your teammate(s), friends, those you’re participating and/or traveling with, etc. (hereafter ‘teammate(s)’) hold harmless Escape It LLC and its employees, partners, sponsors, etc. Meaning, you agree to not sue or make any legal claims against Escape It LLC, its employees, partners or sponsors for any expenses, damages, injuries, or losses from participating in the Treasure Hunt. You also acknowledge and agree to follow all of the Treasure Hunt Rules listed hereafter.
Everyone playing must sign the Release of Liability Waiver form before the scavenger hunt date.
Valid participants must be 18 or older with valid ID to claim the prize.
1. Who is Eligible To Participate
- The Treasure Hunt is open to legal residents of the United States who are at least eighteen (18) years old as of the entry date, or who is accompanying a participant who is eighteen (18) years old as a legal ward.
2. Who is Ineligible To Participate
- Sponsor Employees
- Prize Providers
- Employees of promotional companies, advertising agents, or other entities associated with the Treasure Hunt (including employees of their respective affiliates and subsidiaries
- All other persons involved in the creation, development. Or implementation of the Treasure Hunt
- All immediate family or household members of the above
3. How to Enter
- Online Registration. To participate in the Treasure Hunt, individual must be eligible (see Sections 3 and 4) and must complete the Sponsor’s online registration. During registration each entrant must acknowledge and agree to these Official Rules. Offline Registration is not available.
- All Participants must sign the Accident/Release of Liability Waiver.
4. Agreement to Official Rules
- Participant acknowledges and agrees to participate in the Treasure Hunt according to these Official Rules, any supplemental rules and Sponsor’s decisions (which shall be final and binding in all matters related to the Treasure Hunt) and all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations that govern the Treasure Hunt.
5. Agreement to Participation
- By Purchasing a Ticket to this Event, Participant agrees that they have purchased access to the Treasure Hunt Experience and Challenge and that the Sponsor claims no guarentee of Winning. The Prize (hereafter “Prize”) is not guaranteed to be the total Prize Pool Amount, and is non-transferable and non-negotiable. The first 3 teams to win will share in the Prize Pool. Teams completing the treasure hunt after the first three will receive a discount to the new pirate room, Legend of the Forsaken
6. Participant Conduct
- Interaction with Others. While participating in the Treasure Hunt, Participant:
- Assumes all risks relating to their communications and interactions with other participants and with other persons whom they communicate or interact;
- Shall maintain safe and appropriate contact with other participants, local residents, and race staff.
- Shall not attempt to sabotage other participants or alter clues/answers of Treasure Hunt
- Shall not interfere with other Participants participation in the Treasure Hunt, harass, threaten, or otherwise violate the legal rights of others.
Illegal or Unlawful Activity.
- At no time will the Treasure Hunt require Participant to engage in illegal or unlawful activity. Participant shall;
- Refrain from such activity and immediately contact Sponsor if they believe that the Treasure hunt is requiring such activity
- Comply with all local laws and land management policies, including but not limited to; Traffic Laws, Public Conduct Laws, Property Laws, and Wildlife Preservation Laws.
- Other’s Property. Participant will not;
- Trespass, or in any manner attempt to gain access to any property or location where they do not have a right or permission to be.
- Damage, deface, or destroy public or private property, especially preservation, archaeological or historical sites, when searching
harm plant or animal life when searching. - Dig, climb, or travel in an unsafe area.
- Use metal detectors.
- Confidentiality.
- Participant agrees that all information provided by Sponsor with respect to the Treasure Hunt (including Clues) is confidential (“Confidential Information”). Participant agrees that they will not publicly reveal any Clue to any non-participant in the Treasure Hunt prior to the conclusion of the Treasure hunt. A Participants breach of this Confidentiality restriction may;
- Disqualify the Participant (see Section 7)
- Create a claim for the Sponsor against the Participant for damages arising from such a breach.
- Participant agrees that all information provided by Sponsor with respect to the Treasure Hunt (including Clues) is confidential (“Confidential Information”). Participant agrees that they will not publicly reveal any Clue to any non-participant in the Treasure Hunt prior to the conclusion of the Treasure hunt. A Participants breach of this Confidentiality restriction may;
7. Participant Disqualification
- The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion to disqualify any Participant who;
- Tampers with Treasure Hunt’s entry process or its operation
- Discloses Confidential Information (See Section 6.4)
- Violates any provision in these Official Rules
- Acts in a disruptive manner with the intent to annoy, abuse, threaten, harass, or interfere with any other Participant during the Treasure Hunt Period.
- Participates in the destruction of businesses, private property, state parks and/or state park land during the Treasure Hunt Period.
- Is cited, fined, detained, arrested or otherwise in trouble with the law during the Treasure Hunt Period.
- The Sponsor shall have complete discretion to
- Interpret these Official Rules and any other aspect of the Treasure Hunt
- Verify Participant’s eligibility and compliance with these Official Rules
- Refuse to award any prize to a Participant who is in breach of these Official Rules or otherwise fails satisfactorily to establish eligibility to win and claim a Prize.
8. Winner Cooperation
- Each winning Participant agrees to a release of privacy consenting to the Sponsor’s right to use winner’s name, city, screenname, avatar, likeness, and/or Prize information, in connection with any Treasure Hunt for promotional, advertising, or other purposes worldwide, in any and all media known or hereafter devised (including without limitation, Sponsor’s website, social media, printed materials, texts and email) without limitation and without further payment, notification, permission, or other consideration, except where prohibited by law.
